Brett Lee wants to show Unindian to Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan

Australian cricketer-turned-actor Brett Lee has invited a host of celebrities including Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta for a special screening of his debut film Unindian.

The 39-year-old Australian bowler is making his acting debut with Bollywood film Unindian, opposite Tannishtha Chatterjee.

“The screening will be before the release of the film here in India. We have invited a number of cricketers and Bollywood stars. We have invited Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Preity Zinta and others,” Brett told PTI.

Lee, however, won’t be present during the screening here in Mumbai.

“The feedback that we have got from Australia is amazing. People have thoroughly enjoyed the film. I believe people in India will enjoy the film as well,” Lee added.

Director Anupam Sharma says his filmmaker friend Sajid Nadiadwala has expressed his desire to watch the film that hits cinema houses on August 19.

“We have screening three-four days before the release of the film. Sajid Nadiadwala has requested for a screening. Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan want to see how is Brett in his first film, and there will be a lot of others as well,” Anupam said.

The film Unindian was screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2015. The cross-cultural Australian comedy also stars Angry Indian Goddesses actress, Tannishtha Chatterjee.

Rumours have made round that the former  cricketer has been approached for Housefull 4. Brett Lee has neither confirmed nor denied being part of the film project. Meanwhile, the trailer of the film has been a hearty treat on YouTube.
